How it all started…
In 2011 I took my first yoga class, Bikram Yoga. Like many, I was initially drawn to yoga to become more flexible and to do the fancy poses you see on social media. Not to mention it was the newest fad to hit Perth – I am a sucker for new things especially fitness related.
What did start out as an enquiry to try a new fad quickly turned into something that I was bouncing out of bed at 4.30am to make the 6am class to ensure I got my yoga fix before my jam-packed day started. After a while, the 26 postures became routine and I wanted more. I could see that it was making a profound impact on my attitude, my perspective and my life. My enquiry continued as my friend Lee, took me to Rhyanna VL class. The easiest way to explain how I felt after = mind blown! What is this “Vinyasa” I couldn’t even pronounce the word let alone know what it meant, but what I did know was I enjoyed getting a workout, stretch and relaxation all in one place.
I experimented with many different styles but kept coming back to Vinyasa. This led me to complete my Yoga Teacher Training with Jolie Manza in 2015 and the rest is history.
I give thanks and gratitude to all those who have helped me along the way. Special mention to Jolie Manza, Rhyanna VL, my Mum, Pappie, siblings, Grandparents, my partner Zac and friends who continue to inspire and encourage me.
